Introduction to Jelly Bellies

Welcome to the Jelly Bellies Project!

Jelly Bellies
A project by Jessy Paston

Childbirth brings about so many changes to your life. Your whole life is turned upside down, you hardly have any sleep, you are suddenly responsible for a human being and it’s scary!

To top it all off, your body feels alien, doing its own thing, spurting liquids all over the place. But it is worth it for you have a beautiful baby and you finally realize what the word LOVE truly means.

But…

It is normal? Do other women have the same things happening to them? Is it just me? (Or you?) Going through this?

One way of understanding and sharing is through photography and stories. So let us all share our stories (because not one of them is the same) and let us reveal the effects childbirth has had on our bodies. It is not wrong, or horrid or something to be ashamed of.

The changes in our bodies are because we’ve had a baby and that is huge! It is a miracle in it’s own right and we should be proud of what we’ve done and achieved.

So here’s to our Jelly Bellies, a mother’s badge of honor. Let’s share it and let’s wear it with pride!

See our first family video below introducing the project, enjoy 🙂

Excellent job Jessy! I love that Anisha and Dan interviewed you. I definitely think you’ll help lots of women love and accept themselves after childbirth. You rock Jess, and I wish you the best of luck! ❤

Thank you so much Maia! They wanted to be involved so I let them loose on the camera. I gave them some questions but they asked their own too…movie directors in the making? 😉
